The Minnesota
Water Well Association (MWWA) was established in 1923 to act as
a representative of the well drilling industry throughout the State
of Minnesota. The association has shown steady growth and gained
respect over the years. MWWA, now more than 200 members strong (nearly
70% of all licensed drillers in the State), is recognized as a thoughtful
and responsible representative of the ground water industry.
We are an NGWA affiliate state.
The Minnesota Water Well Association has been hard at work for your industry for many years, and is now asking for your support.
Within the last few years, we as an association have addressed many items and concerns that if left unchecked could have affected the entire industry in a negative manner. From an attempted formation of a new Rural Water System tied into an ethanol plant to the Crane Law and Special Mobile Equipment language, MWWA has been involved with them all, working to ensure that there is no negative impact to the members and for that matter, industry as well.
We need your help and support to continue to stay a leader in the Groundwater Industry with in the state, and lead the way educating the public on our resource & your livelihood.
So what! Why should I join?
If you just asked that, then take a look at the enclosed brochure. There are lots of reasons to join, and listed in the brochure are just a few. Most importantly is that if you join, you then become eligible for discounts to the convention and trade show (a great place to get all your CEs at one time), gain access to yearly insurance dividend monies, participate in education and political actions and you may even learn a thing or two about improving the way you do business.
Bottom line & A membership in MWWA can work in your favor and can provide access to cost saving tips and greater exposure for your business.
This is a time when the industry & YOUR industry needs participation from people like you & hard working, honest and professional business men and women.
Support MWWA today by sending in your membership dues and begin reaping the rewards.

In a letter received by the MWWA office dated March 9, 2007 from Minnesota OSHA Compliance and the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry the following is stated:
Minnesota Statutes 182.6525 is derived from the American national Standard ASME B30.5-2004, which identifies several types of equipment that are not applicable to the B30.5 standard since they are not considered mobile or locomotive cranes. Among those types of equipment are well-drilling derricks and truck body hoists. Therefore, as identified within the scope of B30.5, Minnesota Statutes 182.6525 will not apply to well-drilling derricks and truck body hoists. However, if well drilling equipment or pump repair equipment is attached to the upper boom-point of a mobile crane that has the lifting capacity of 5 tons or more, and is being operated on a construction site, then the operator will be required to have valid certification.
If you have any questions regarding the Crane Law, please contact Dave at the MWWA office.
